Since Dave had to work on New Years Eve, Jace and I had our own New Years party. We made Chex Mix, rented a movie and at 8:00 pm rang in the New Year.
Dave got some free Passes to Paoli Peaks so Annette, Spencer, Jessica, Jace and I all went to have some fun. Jace loved it. He didn’t have to get out of the tube at all. I just pulled him every where.
After we were done tubing, we went over to the lodge and had some hot coca and a little picnic lunch that Jessica had packed up for us, which hit the spot!
Everyone has asked me since if it was freezing cold. No not really. We were pretty bundled up and there didn’t seem to be much wind. I got to the point where I even took off my gloves and was not froze. Near the end it started to spit wet snow, which made it feel colder then it was.
Before Christmas Jace helped Daddy make rock candy for Daddy to take into work. Plus Jace LOVES rock candy himself, so he wanted to make sure there was enough for him to have too!
We visited BooBoo and Grandpa’s house on Christmas Eve and then Mamaw and Papaws on Christmas day.
We opened our gifts for each other on Christmas Eve before going to BooBoo’s house. Jace got Pictureka which he had been asking for. He also got a bathroom and a cool rock shirt. Momma got some perfume, pillow and a nice bathroom for herself. And Daddy got a new watch and a new polo shirt.
After visiting BooBoo Jace put out Reindeer food in the back yard. He even called to the Reindeer, so they would know where he was. Then we put out cookies and water for Santa, Jace thought that he would like water better then milk. Then we put out Carrots for the Reindeer, but we had to put more then one since they would fight over just one.
Come Christmas morning Jace was up bright and early and the first gift he seen (even though it was in the back) was the Guitar box! After that the other gifts could wait.
Then later that day we went to Mamaws and he showed off his Guitar to his Cousin Spencer.
Jace got a great Space Train Station from BooBoo and Grandpa. Daddy’s hoping to build a table for it to sit on downstairs. And he got Rocky the Robot Truck from Mamaw and Papaw.
The Christmas Season is a busy one. I took Jace uptown for Olde World Christmas. We rode a Horse Carriage, checked out the Old Mill, rode the train and seen Santa…again.
We also drove over to Santa Clause to hand post-mark our own Christmas cards this year. Jace helped stamp all of them himself. Then we went over to Santa’s Candy Castle and seen Santa…again. Jace didn’t want to take the chance of Santa forgetting that he wanted a Guitar…even though he’d been telling him that since about July at Holiday World.
With a few weeks left until Christmas, Jace told us that he not only wanted a Guitar for Christmas but he wanted a Trumpet also. But he was okay with Daddy digging out his old Bugle. Dave didn’t think that Jace would be able to play it and I told him ‘You’ll be surprised! I bet he can.’ And what do you think happened! Jace could do it! Boy can he ever play that thing!
